Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship

One position is offered each year.

Eligibility

Candidates must have completed a minimum of two years of training in an ACGME-accredited pathology residency program, which must include at least 18 months of clinical pathology or the completion of other ACGME-approved programs.

To apply to our blood banking/transfusion medicine fellowship program, please send the following documents:

  • Standardized CAP application form
  • Cover letter/letter of interest
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school transcript (copy is acceptable)
  • Medical diploma (copy of original and translation)
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
  • USMLE scores (steps 1, 2 and 3)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Copy of graduation certificate or letter of intent from program director

Selection Process

From the pool of completed applications, the fellowship committee selects individuals to invite for personal interview at University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

Invited applicants will undergo a personal interview with the program director and faculty on site. Each interviewer, who has also reviewed all relevant application materials, records his/her opinion and scores applicants. The final decision on ranking is made by the program director.
